Like many, Carmen didn’t enjoy the spandex-filled meat market experience typical of gyms. Her vision of creating a welcoming place with a focus on total body health led her to purchase the gym. Even though she started exercising later in life, her commitment meant she was able to stop taking her blood pressure medication. Carmen enjoys kickboxing as part of her regular routine.
Martin Van Zanten
For 20+ years, Martin’s helped many achieve great results long-term. A Body Transformation Specialist, his specially designed programs led dozens of members to lose hundreds of pounds. Grounded in many years as a Martial Arts instructor, his fun high-energy classes enhance co-ordination & body mechanics while increasing balance, stability & flexibility.
Peter Szafranski
Peter’s career choice as a personal trainer is driven by his passion for fitness and exercise. With more than seventeen years of experience, Peter enthusiastically develops a fun approach to a healthier lifestyle for his clients, young and mature alike. He helps clients achieve their fitness levels with a mix of high energy, positive attitude, laughter, weight, flexibility and cardio training.
Paul Godlewski

Paul’s extensive experience treating orthopaedic and sports injuries are complimented with advanced certifications in Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT), Acupuncture and Intramuscular Stimulation. VRT is designed to overcome certain dizziness and balance problems like vertigo. The result of these treatments is an improvement in a person’s symptoms and ability to carry out daily activities.
Lindsay Keefe
Yoga Instructor

successfully completed the Blissology 240 hour yoga teacher training with world renowned Canadian yogi, Eoin Finn in 2013 and in 2016 training (50 hours) with Susi Hately in therapeutic yoga for pain. Lindsay has over 1000 hours of teaching experience and an additional 300 hours of extra training. I am registered with Yoga Alliance and Yoga Alliance Canada

Valerie's search for a gym that catered to a mature clientele led her to Avalon Fitness in 2011. After 33 years in education, she is now enjoying a stress-free retirement that includes time for family, friends and all the activities that support her goal of a healthy lifestyle. Her Front Desk duties add a finishing touch to the balance.
Gary Jones
Gary is Avalon Fitness’ greatest success story. At his ideal weight of 165 pounds, Gary has lost almost half of his original weight of 330 pounds! Gary keeps us all functioning. From the most complex computer issues, to installing light bulbs, he makes sure that everything is running smoothly.
